Watch the Video Pitch for PLAN B POSITIVE:

Get to know writer Elizabeth Buck:

1. What is your story about?

My short film is about a bisexual vampire (Mina Strigoi) who is encouraged to go to a speed dating event after receiving encouragement from her ex. Mina reluctly attends and, by the end of the night, seems to have found her true love (Antoinette). However, she quickly realizes that it was all a revenge ploy, set up by Lucy.

2. Why should people know about yourself and your story?

I think people should know my story because it is a refreshing take on the now cliché vampire drama in that it doesn’t take itself to seriously and it isn’t just for teens. (I mean no insult, my Tumblr friends.) Also, if/when people take interest in me as a writer, then I will feel motivated to possibly extend the story of…

1. What is your story about?

Arch-Wizard Faery Prince recruits an under-confident young orphan
girl for training in Shapeshifting, Time Travel, Quantum Mastery, all
to turn her into a super-hero who travels through time, saving lives
and bringing evil to its knees.

2. Why should people know about yourself and your story?

This story, in large part, is based on a past life reading I gave once to a
young woman several years ago. I never forgot the reading, it was so unusual
and vivid. This young woman had been a psychic master of some sort in a past
life and was able to shape shift…take on the form of animals at will,
including eagles and wolves. I had been giving past life readings for years
but had never experienced a…

Watch the 140 Character Short Story: IMPROVISING:

Story read by actress Maya Woloszyn

Get to know writer Mark Farley:

1) What is your very short story about?

It’s about a husband and wife experimenting in the bedroom. Well, it is until you read the second line.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I joined Twitter recently and was fascinated to see how much twitter fiction is out there. Fitting a story into a single tweet is such a challenge! The festival appealed because tweets often get lost in a sea of text, and it’s great to see the stories brought to life in a new, exciting way.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

I can watch ‘Shakespeare in Love’ over and over again. I’m a soppy sod, so I love the story, but the quality of the…

Prank Call, Twitter Short Story by Lucas Ruderman

Watch the 140 Character Short Story: PRANK CALL:

Story read by actress Maya Woloszyn

Get to know writer Lucas Ruderman:

1) What is your very short story about?

My very short story is about a middle-aged man who has absolutely had it with these prank calls. He gets the old “Is your refrigerator running?” and the little kids laughing trying to remain serious. Fed up with the constant annoyance, he immediately answers his next call with an angry greeting. This is followed by several curses and crude phrases. He is satisfied with his outburst until he hears the frightened and scarred sounding tone of his mother’s voice. This of course is followed by a lecture about how he was raised much better than he had portrayed.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

My father used to get prank phone calls all the…

Watch the 140 Character Short Story: DRINKING GAME:

Story read by actress Maya Woloszyn

Get to know writer Helen Freeman:

1) What is your very short story about?

My short story is about two friends sitting and talking and deciding who annoys them the most. They decide to start a list and title it, “People I Want to Punch in the Face”.

2) What motivated you to write this story and submit it to the festival?

I have been toying with this idea for a while, and found that keeping anything to 140 characters was quite difficult. I also just wanted to see how it would be received.

3) What movie have you seen the most in your life?

That would be hard to say. One of my favorites is “Forrest Gump” , “Gone With the Wind”; and I thought “Boyhood” was brilliant.

4) How many scripts and stories have…
