1. What is your short film script about?

It’s a story about mental illness which, like a prison, takes away man’s freedom and tears people apart.

2. Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

It’s a short, low-budget and (I hope) emotionally appealing and thrilling story.

3. How would you describe this story in one sentence?

A man tries to escape from a prison no one has ever escaped from before.

4. What movie have you seen the most in your life?

It’s probably Coca-Cola Christmas commercial with a truck! When I was I child, I would see it every year 🙂 But seriously, it’s a really tough question. I don’t usually watch movies more than once.

HORROR Movie Pitches. Read over 150 feature script horror film loglines

WILDsound Festival's avatarWILDsound Festival

The Horror Film. No matter what you think of them, it is a powerful movie genre that makes a lot of money for the studios. It has a large fan base which seems to be getting more popular every year thanks in large part to the internet and countless blogs written about them. Other than perhaps Comic Book/Action movies, no other genre is talked about more online than the horror genre.

Recently, on my personal blog, I talked about this genre while promoting the Top 100 Horror Films of All-Time List:
http://matthewtoffolo.com/2014/11/12/top-100-horror-movies/

There is a large debate about how they impact people. Are they just harmless entertainment, or can they linger in a negative way in our dreams and subconscious? And is there a line that shouldn’t be crossed in terms of violence and abuse of women? Is some of it really just “torture porn?”

Either way, horror films are…

Haunted Heart is about Nigel Pickford, a former Confederate officer, tortured by visions, who is recruited by a group of paranormal investigators and taken deep into a world of ghosts and supernatural beings threatening the life of the woman he loves.

2. Why should this screenplay be made into a television show?

Frankly, there is not enough good horror on television. Horror objectifies our nightmares and allows us to deal with them. When done right, we want to cover our eyes, but peer through our fingers. Haunted Heart is a horror television series set…

KNOCKED DOWN, Animation/Action, 3min, Spain
Directed by Pepe Gomez

A young boxer ponders about the world of boxing while fighting for the championship belt.

Director’s Statement:

There are three main goals I wanted to achieve to this film. First of all, I aimed to capture in a film some of my own experiences in the world of boxing. Secondly, I wanted to play with the black and white, the light and the darkness. My last goal was to explore the movement of the human body, especially in slow motion, and to experiment and discover new techniques to recreate slow motion in animation.
