The theme of the OCTOBER 2015 FILM FESTIVAL was:
“DEATH”.

Every film showcased on the night was about a character who dies or is already dead. This festival evening was especially unique because every film screened received a substantial vote by the audience for “best film” of the evening. It was the closest vote we ever had as every single film was in the race.

Here’s the summary of each film:

– A PEACEFUL MAN: Someone is about to die but won’t leave without a fight.

– BELL TOWER ENIGMA: The mystery of an empty church. Where are they and who is still alive?

– THE BLOOD OF LOVE: A widow has a machine that brings her dead husband…

1. What is your screenplay about?

I would say that my screenplay is above all about forgiveness. A soldier coming back from Iraq with PTSD has fallen on hard times. He comes home to his dying father and to a mother who has run out of patience and understanding. In a sense the young man in my story is a prodigal son who is saved by his father’s unquestioning love. He comes to ask forgiveness to his parents but first he has to forgive himself.

No Hope for Gomez! is the story of a guy who’s convinced life is verifiably harder on him than it is on others. When he falls for an assistant in a mysterious drug trial, he teams up with a misguided YouTube dating guru to reel in The One, but soon the trial’s side-effects have him questioning his increasingly strange experiences, and the dating guru turns out to be very different from what he made himself out to be.
